Unit Overview

The Medical Telemetry Unit specializes in the care of patients with complex cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and dialysis needs. This unit features 31 private rooms and is equipped to manage a wide range of patient conditions, including:
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • IV therapy
  • Nutritional support
  • Wound management
  • Hemodialysis
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Physical and respiratory therapy
  • Pain management

Position Summary

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital is responsible for independently planning and delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients, adhering to physician directives and established protocols. This role is aligned with the standards set forth by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current RN licensure in Georgia without restrictions.
  • A minimum of two years of full-time nursing experience following orientation or residency.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Additional cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) may be required based on unit specifications.
  • Refer to the specific clinical unit for further educational and certification requirements.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • National Certification in a Clinical Specialty is preferred.
  • Additional preferred attributes may vary by unit.
