Flexible Part-Time Speech Therapist Position in Home Healthcare

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) in Iowa City. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to work with patients in their homes, providing comprehensive Speech Therapy services to individuals and families.
About the Role:
- This flexible part-time position allows for a balanced schedule, primarily working Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM.
- You will maintain a small caseload, developing treatment plans that address solutions to living environment barriers and assisting clients to remain comfortable, safe, and independent.
- As a key member of our professional team, you will collaborate with other disciplines, including Home Making, Aide, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work, to provide holistic care to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive Speech Therapy services to individuals and families, assessing patients in the home setting and advising/consulting with patients and family members on communication and patient functioning within the home.
- Acknowledge primary care responsibilities for Speech Therapy and coordinate services of all disciplines as needed.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide services to special groups as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with agency standards on visit productivity and frequency of home visits to meet individual and family needs.
- Comply with agency policies regarding record maintenance and preparation.
- Provide patient medical, geographical, financial, and statistical information as needed by the agency.
Requirements:
- A sincere desire to help others.
- Master's Degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology from an approved School of Speech Therapy.
- Registered and licensed in the State of Iowa.
- At least one year of experience providing direct patient service, preferably in hospice, home health, hospital, or long-term care settings.
- Car ownership, driver's license, and adequate insurance are required.
- Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- US work authorization.
- BLS Certification.
- Mandatory Reporter Training.
- All offers of employment are conditioned upon the result of a criminal background check conducted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and a negative finding on the Office of Inspector General's Excluded Provider List.
