Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stamping Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Co. This role will be responsible for utilizing engineering knowledge and experience to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of equipment within the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project work – Business plan, New Model, and End of Life equipment projects, including situation analysis, target setting, spec development, business justification, installation, and commissioning.
  • Problem solving/root cause analysis – gathering data and identifying root causes to implement countermeasures and eliminate problems.
  • Analyze current equipment conditions and operating characteristics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze available data to develop and implement strategies to improve department KPIs (run rate, throughput, material reduction).
  • Support New Model investigation and maintain regular communication with other facilities to reduce duplicate workload and collaborate on global stamping activity.
  • Support maintenance with chronic/catastrophic downtime troubleshooting and generate documentation to achieve sustainability.
  • Develop a thorough understanding and apply engineering standards, spec/drawing, and Honda quality systems and methods to hold accountability, prevent outflow, and ensure compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering or equivalent engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 0-6 years' experience dependent upon education level.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manage projects to assure deliverables are achieved.
  • Computer work such as ACAD, CATIA, and Office programs.
  • At the spot collection and analysis of data.
  • Hands-on support of equipment.
  • Create and track project schedules.
  • Good communications skills, interpersonal skills to function in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly.
Working Conditions
  • Office environment – 60%.
  • Manufacturing environment – 40%.
  • Travel
