About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Billings, MT. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles.

Job Summary

The Diesel Mechanic will work independently to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues on diesel engines, transmissions, and other components. You will also perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other components
  • Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, and other components to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians to complete complex repairs and projects
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 years of experience working with diesel engines and transmissions
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • ASE Certification in diesel engines and transmissions preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $27.50 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and shift differentials. Second shift start times after 11am are eligible for an additional $3.00 per hour shift differential, while third shift start times after 9pm are eligible for an additional $4.00 per hour shift differential.
