About the Role

Airbus Americas is seeking a skilled Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our team in Mobile, AL. As a key member of our Manufacturing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care and safety is built into each aircraft we assemble and maintain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all defined Quality Inspections up to product delivery, red flagging all deviations and verifying that the industrial environment, facilities, hardware & tools respond to operations & safety requirements.
  • Contribute to investigations and root cause analysis into reported quality / quality technical issues from the business team and customer, ensuring appropriate containment and archiving, corrective and curative action is taken by the accountable function through multifunctional teams.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to Operations & Support Functions on Quality issues and observations from Operational Surveillance.
  • Operational Surveillance (process, product, people), Optimization of Inspection activities, fast response to quality issues, Process Improvement, Investigations and root cause analysis, Foreign object damage prevention, Opening / Closure of Non conformities where appropriate and support to the shop floor providing expertise in Q issues.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in an aviation company with an emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.
  • Preferred experience in a Quality Inspector position.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line.
  • Handling and use of inspection tools for length measuring techniques (mechanical, electrical).
  • Relevant Airline/Aviation experience is desirable.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: FAA Airframe & Powerplant License, an A&P license including inspection authorization is preferred.
