Job Title: Security Engineer

Job Summary:

Innova Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our data, computer systems, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and implement cutting-edge security strategies that drive our company's security architecture forward.
  • Partner with business groups to embed security best practices into new projects from conception to launch.
  • Lead the vulnerability management platform, configuring, scanning, reporting, and keeping endpoint agents updated to stay ahead of threats.
  • Manage the EDR platform, conducting event investigations, crafting smart alerts and reports, refining policies, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Work with Cloud Engineers and operations experts to ensure Microsoft cloud solutions are built with security excellence at their core.
  • Conduct proactive audits to ensure EDR and vulnerability scanning tools are always on point and performing at their best.
  • Monitor the SIEM and Microsoft Azure environments, identifying potential threats before they become a problem, and fine-tuning Splunk alerts and dashboards for ultimate efficiency.
  • Lead security incidents, minimizing impact, communicating solutions, gathering forensics, and making hard-hitting recommendations to strengthen defenses.
  • Stay on top of external threat intelligence across industries, bringing fresh insights and actionable recommendations to ensure our company stays ahead of future risks.
  • Collaborate with tech operations teams to ensure essential security controls like firewalls, MFA, and NAC are always functioning at peak performance.
  • Deliver insightful reports on security metrics, incident outcomes, and other security initiatives that drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Risk and Audit teams to tackle certification tasks and client inquiries, keeping everything on track and running smoothly.
  • Be the expert in third-party security due diligence, ensuring new vendors meet top-tier security standards.
  • Inspire and mentor junior security staff, sharing your expertise and passion to help build a stellar team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in security, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Current security certifications preferred or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
  • 3+ years of work experience as a security analyst or information security engineer.
  • Hands-on experience in security software and systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus/EDR software, identity monitoring solutions, authentication platforms, log management, web-content filtering platforms, and vulnerability management systems.
  • Splunk, Crowdstrike, and Qualys software experience preferred.
  • Azure cloud security experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work in complex IT environments with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with multiple teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in project task planning, implementation, and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills.
