Position Overview:
As a Senior Educator, you will take charge of the daily functions of a classroom within a childcare facility or preschool environment. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a supportive and educational atmosphere that nurtures the growth of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Design and Execution:
    • Create and execute lesson plans and activities that are developmentally suitable, aligning with educational standards and the facility's educational framework.
    • Encourage a dynamic learning space that enhances social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
  • Child Development Monitoring:
    • Perform continuous observations and evaluations of each child's developmental progress and needs.
    • Utilize assessment results to customize individual learning experiences and objectives for each child.
  • Classroom Oversight:
    • Establish and uphold a well-structured, tidy, and secure classroom environment that promotes learning.
    • Effectively manage classroom routines and transitions while encouraging positive behavior management techniques.
  • Communication with Parents and Guardians:
    • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians about their child's development, activities, and any concerns.
    • Conduct parent-teacher meetings and ensure open communication channels to support the child's growth.
  • Team Collaboration and Mentorship:
    • Offer guidance, support, and mentorship to assistant educators and classroom aides.
    • Work alongside other staff members and administrators to ensure uniformity in educational practices and compliance with facility policies.
  • Health and Safety Standards:
    • Ensure adherence to all state licensing regulations, health, and safety protocols.
    • Keep records related to children's health, attendance, and developmental milestones.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience and coursework).
  • Relevant experience in working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of early childhood development theories, practices, and curriculum standards.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere passion for working with children and their families.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (may be required based on state regulations).

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and carry children and/or equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Energy and stamina to actively engage with children throughout the day.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods.
