Position Overview:

The Diagnostic Sonographer is responsible for conducting ultrasound examinations in alignment with established departmental protocols to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates radiology exam requests and verifies patient information to guarantee safe, suitable, and cost-effective imaging.
  • Utilizes a comprehensive skill set to ensure timely completion of exams while adhering to quality and compliance standards.
  • Implements the Diagnostic Sonographer screening process for patients, staff, and self, following prescribed safety protocols.
  • Facilitates the orientation and training of new personnel.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Technical Skills:

  • Compliance (Novice): Understands and applies basic statutory guidelines in standard situations. Recognizes the principles underlying rules and regulations and escalates issues appropriately.
  • Patient Documentation (Novice): Demonstrates fundamental proficiency in patient documentation in practical scenarios of moderate complexity.
  • Radiology (Novice): Exhibits basic proficiency in delivering radiology services in practical applications.
  • Anatomy & Physiology Knowledge (Novice): Displays fundamental knowledge of anatomy and physiology in practical contexts.
