Job Summary

Marksman Security is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at the truck gate. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling access to the facility, ensuring the safety and security of personnel and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access Control: Monitor and control medium to high volume access, observing who enters and exits the facility, checking identification, issuing access badges, and maintaining a log of visitors and vehicles.
  • Surveillance: Use security cameras and other surveillance equipment to monitor activity at the gate and within the facility, watching for suspicious behavior and ensuring all security protocols are followed.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Conduct inspections of trucks and other vehicles entering or leaving the premises, checking for cargo, verifying load manifests, and ensuring that vehicles meet safety standards.
  • Communication: Coordinate with other security personnel and facility staff to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise, reporting incidents and documenting daily activities.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security-related activities, including vehicle entries and exits, incidents, and any other relevant information.
  • Traffic Control: Direct and manage the flow of vehicles, especially in busy areas.
  • Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the gate area and surrounding property to deter and detect any unauthorized activities.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as accidents, security breaches, or medical incidents, alerting emergency services if necessary and following company protocols.
  • Customer Service: Assist drivers and visitors with directions, information, and ensuring a positive experience while maintaining security standards.
  • Enforcing Rules: Ensure that policies, procedures, and regulations are followed.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CA BSIS Guard Card
  • Valid CA Driver's License
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Essential computer skills
  • Familiarity with report writing
  • Monitoring and surveillance experience
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Previous security experience is required
  • Must successfully pass Pre-Employment background check and drug test
