About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Fairview Health Services. As a Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Operating Room team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items to ensure seamless surgical procedures.
  • Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
  • Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens to support diagnostic and treatment processes.
  • Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments to prevent errors and ensure patient safety.
  • Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize surgical efficiency.
  • Modifying clinical interventions based on population served to provide personalized care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking to drive excellence in patient care and surgical outcomes.
  • Anticipating the surgeon's needs to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Following appropriate action in emergency situations to ensure patient safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Complete one of the following by hire date: Military Surgical Assistant, LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant, or Surgical Technologist training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date).
  • At least 1 year of Cardiovascular experience as a Surgical Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire.
  • 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience.
