The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is a key member of our healthcare team at Concordia of the South Hills. As a vital part of our rehabilitation services, this role plays a crucial role in providing occupational therapy services to residents as prescribed by the attending physician under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed (OTR/L).
Responsibilities- Assist the OTR/L with overseeing all aspects of the resident's plan of care with respect to OT treatment.
- Contribute to the development and modification of individualized, goal-directed treatment plans in conjunction with the OTR/L.
- Conduct safe and effective resident treatment sessions using the prescribed treatment plan, including resident/family educational programs. Reports resident responses to treatment, changes in care plan needs, and progress toward goals to the OTR/L.
- Contribute to the occupational therapy resident evaluation process by completing structured evaluations as directed by the OTR/L.
- Contribute to the supervision of occupational therapy students, aides, or volunteers as directed by the OTR/L.
- Document results of assessment, treatment, follow-up, discharge, and billing notes in an accurate, timely manner in accordance with Standards of Practice, state and federal regulations, and policies/procedures.
- Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum approved by the American Occupational Therapy Associates
- Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Two years long term care or rehabilitation experience preferred
- CPR certification strongly preferred and encouraged
