About the Role

We seek an experienced Registered Nurse II to join our dynamic team at the Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center/HCPC at UTHealth Houston. This pivotal position requires a highly skilled nurse with expertise in psychiatric nursing and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical and psychiatric needs, developing individualized care plans that address their unique requirements.
  • Direct and supervise the delivery of care by other nursing team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and allied health professionals, to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their treatment and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and outcomes, adhering to hospital policies and accrediting agency standards.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas.
  • CPR certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school or Associate's degree in nursing with relevant experience.
  • Minimum one year of nursing experience, with preference given to those with acute care or psychiatric nursing backgrounds.
