We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at UT Health Science Center at Houston. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals with psychiatric needs.

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Coordinator will assist licensed nursing staff in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients. This includes assisting with daily living activities, operating medical equipment, and participating in treatment planning. You will also have the opportunity to interact with patients in a therapeutic manner and participate in group activities.

In this role, you will work closely with a preceptor/designee to provide inpatient non-skilled nursing care to psychiatric patients. Your responsibilities will include monitoring patients, documenting observations, and reporting any concerns to licensed staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist licensed nursing staff in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
  • Provide inpatient non-skilled nursing care to psychiatric patients under the supervision of licensed staff
  • Monitor patients, document observations, and report any concerns to licensed staff
  • Participate in treatment planning and implementation with licensed staff
  • Interact with patients in a therapeutic manner and participate in group activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a psychiatric setting
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
