Job Summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a skilled Radiology Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation and Imaging: Prepare patients for procedures, including entering patient data into our electronic health record system, positioning patients on the procedure table, and obtaining scout films as needed.
  • Image Acquisition and Processing: Set exposure factors and imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images for diagnosis by radiologists.
  • Procedure Assistance: Assist interventional radiologists with sterile equipment and monitor procedures from the control room, adjusting exposure factors and fluoro time as needed.
  • Image Display and Documentation: Photograph and label digital images, process and display final images on viewing machines for radiologist interpretation, and maintain accurate records of films, fluoro time, and injections.
  • Radiation Safety and Training: Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and protocols, and train other associates and students in special procedures.
  • Departmental Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, and perform duties of a 4T technologist as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, and satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training program.
  • Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a valid license in the State of New York.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of special procedure/angiographic systems, radiographic exposure equipment, film processors, and Epic tracking equipment.
