UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in Carrboro, North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of clinical activities in the UNCHCS.
- Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
- Participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
- Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents, and train new employees.
- Perform quality control and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
- Prepare specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
- Report results to healthcare providers and consult/confere with them regarding test results.
- Review test results to ensure accuracy of report and timely correction of errors.
- Bachelor's of Science degree.
- Eligibility to sit for MT exam within 12 months of hire.
- Obtain certification within one year of becoming exam eligible.
- No prior experience required.
Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays.
