About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Architectural Designer II to join our team in the Roanoke, VA office. As a key member of our Health + Science Studio, you will work on a broad range of healthcare, research space, higher education, and municipality projects for clients that represent both public and private entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations and prepare specifications, reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups and prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • Assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or other related field required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Skills
  • Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with Clients and peers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills related to visualization.
  • Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related graphic software.
  • Enrolled in NCARB Architectural Experience program (AXP), formerly Intern Development Program (IDP), and actively seeking state Architecture Registration.
  • Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC.
