The RN Charge Nurse is a key member of our dialysis team, responsible for overseeing nursing services and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with clinical and operational processes to improve patient outcomes and reduce hospitalizations.
- Effectively manage supplies and staff labor hours to optimize efficiency.
- Complete and document monthly review of patient medication profiles, administering medications as ordered by physicians.
- Assist physicians during patient rounds, transcribing and implementing orders in a timely manner.
- Implement anemia management and medication protocols as requested.
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including healthcare professionals' practice act requirements.
- Perform duties within established company policies and procedures, applicable state and federal laws, and regulations.
- May provide direct patient care, performing efficient and safe dialysis as allowed by state regulations.
- Respond to emergencies in the clinic.
- Communicate patient assessment, reassessment, and ongoing monitoring results to physicians, team members, and others as necessary.
- Maintain a collaborative working relationship with the Medical Director and physicians.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team activities for patient assessment and care planning.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff as a preceptor or by assigning a preceptor.
- Act as a resource person and participate in implementing and evaluating dialysis services, ensuring policies and procedures are updated.
- Assist the Administrator in interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplinary actions for center staff.
