Key Responsibilities- Maintain cleanliness of animal enclosures and provide grooming services.
- Sanitize examination areas and ensure a sterile environment.
- Assist in restraining animals during medical assessments or vaccinations.
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians, including mixing with food.
- Monitor and report on animal behavior and health status to the veterinary team.
- Handle administrative tasks such as managing appointment schedules and prioritizing patient calls.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of animal care.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' care and any relevant issues.
- Manage incoming and outgoing calls professionally and promptly.
- Provide clear and precise information to clients both in-person and via phone/email.
- Facilitate the check-in and check-out process for clients.
- Effectively manage emergency situations and communicate clearly with clients.
- Demonstrated experience as an Animal Care Technician or in a similar role.
- Experience in administrative functions is advantageous.
- Prior experience as a pet owner is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Exhibit a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Comfortable handling various types of animals (e.g., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles).
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 40 pounds and engaging in activities such as bending and kneeling. Must not have allergies to animals and should possess good vision and hearing.
- Willingness to work during emergencies as needed.
- High school diploma required; certification from a Veterinary Assistant program is a plus.
