As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will be accountable for evaluating business systems, workflows, and technologies to ensure optimal resource utilization in alignment with the operational goals of Dallas County.
Your role will involve strategic design and mapping of user stories and solutions to meet system and technical specifications. You will be tasked with creating and documenting process diagrams and drafting technical specifications for new solutions, including custom developments and system integrations.Additionally, you will provide recommendations based on best practices for software and process solutions. You will assess training requirements, develop educational materials, and conduct training sessions.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with IT personnel and leadership throughout all stages of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring the necessary documentation is produced. This role also includes troubleshooting and resolving a range of application and system challenges. You will partner with various departments, internal IT teams, and external vendors to maintain consistent operational efficiency and performance.
Management Responsibilities:
Support the activities of Business System Analyst I. Provide moderate to advanced technical assistance for system users, including problem qualification, fault isolation, and resolution of system and application issues. You will prioritize client technical inquiries and maintain records of incidents, requests, and changes in activity tracking systems.
Engage in testing and validation of software updates and new releases. Conduct quality assurance reviews of deliverables for both internal and external purposes. Manage complex application security rights through user roles and access. Document customer business functions and processes, serve as a technical resource for projects, and update project schedules and sprints.
Contribute to the development of training materials and facilitate technical training sessions. Assist in creating end-user application training documents and participate in gathering and documenting user requirements. Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in systems and/or application technical support is required.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in standard software applications (MS Windows, MS Office, etc.). Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills are essential. A clear and logical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting is necessary.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, departments, and the public in both traditional and virtual environments.
Demonstrate professionalism, positivity, and approachability. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced setting. Strong teamwork, facilitation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills are required. Solid experience in software quality assurance testing is mandatory.

Work Environment:
Standard office environment with the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs unassisted.
