Senior Accounting Professional

A senior accounting position is available at Jobot, a leading energy company focused on providing electricity and natural gas safely, reliably, and affordably to millions of customers in the U.S.
This permanent, hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home while also providing opportunities for face-to-face collaboration with our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and procedures, with a particular focus on financial reporting and analysis.
You will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our company, providing critical insights to help guide our financial decisions and strategies. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and laws.
- Conducting detailed financial analysis and forecasts to evaluate our financial performance against budget, implementing appropriate strategies as necessary.
- Overseeing the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reviewing and improving existing accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors, providing necessary information and preparing needed reports.
- Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends, analyzing change and advising accordingly.
- Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or CPA certification an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and critically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, along with top-tier benefits, including good vacation and time off packages, 401K matching, HSA matching, and remote work options.
