As a Senior Legal Strategist at McCarthy Building Companies, you will drive the legal strategy for the Southern Region on all aspects of legal issues encountered by a major general contractor working in numerous markets and industries. This role requires a strategic thinker who can provide solution-oriented legal advice to a variety of business stakeholders while collaborating with other departments and outside attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide counsel to regional leadership on day-to-day legal issues.
  • Lead attorney for the Northern and Southern Pacific Regions, interacting with senior business leaders to make critical decisions.
  • Offer guidance on construction law, including disputes related to contract, delay, payment, construction defect, and injuries, litigation, and insurance matters.
  • Assist operations in disputes involving owners, architects, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Manage subcontractor defaults and work with operations to ensure companies' interests are properly protected.
  • Draft memoranda, correspondence, and reports summarizing research findings and offering opinions regarding liability, risk transfer, and exposure.
