Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Orthopedic Trauma Director to join our team at Emory University. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Orthopaedic Trauma Service at Grady, a busy Level I Trauma Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the care of trauma and critical care patients
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the education of fellows and residents
  • Facilitate the overall growth and development of the orthopaedic trauma service
  • Interface with other trauma-related services
  • Serve as the point of contact for hospital administration
  • Lead outreach efforts related to Grady Orthopaedic Trauma local and national branding
  • Appoint the associate trauma director
  • Create and steward the trauma faculty operating room, call, and PTO schedule
  • Participate in strategic planning
  • Model collaborative, professional, and respectful relationships with staff, faculty, and other stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Strong national presence in AO and OTA
  • Currently hold full professor rank
  • Completed an accredited residency training program
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with sub-specialty fellowship training in Trauma
  • Eligible for licensure in Georgia
