Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Mitchell Martin, Inc. in Spring Valley, NY.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide behavioral health treatment for a wide range of psychiatric disorders and will be responsible for all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, collaboration, and consultations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' mental health conditions by collecting medical histories, administering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, and identifying issues affecting their mental health.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine preliminary diagnoses and create individualized therapeutic plans for mental health problems and psychiatric disorders based on evidence-based standards of care and practice guidelines.
- Prescribe psychotropic drugs and related medications to treat symptoms of psychiatric disorders and improve functional health status based on clinical indications of a patient's status, including results of diagnostic and lab tests.
- Identify, measure, and monitor clinical and related behavioral outcomes to determine the effectiveness and appropriateness of the plan of care.
- Educate patients and/or family members about the nature of the psychiatric condition and provide instructions on proper intervention and treatment.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and other staff members in managing acute and long-term medical and psychiatric/mental health needs of patients.
- Document medical history and treatment plans effectively, concisely, and accurately, maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Coordinate referrals and ongoing access to primary and other health care services for patients.
- Provide consultation to and seek consultation from other health care clinicians to enhance quality and continuity of care.
- Collaborate with other departments in the health center to improve and enhance communication and quality of care.
- Provide coverage for other providers after hours or when away (e.g., vacations or time off).
- Comply with applicable policies and procedures and support the Compliance Program.
- Contribute to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.
- Active NY DEA Registration
- BSN, MSN preferred, successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner psychiatric program
- Current registered nurse license and certification in New York State
- Eligible to Work in the US
$150K-$214K Annual
