Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court Security Officer to join our team at Genesee County, Michigan. As a Court Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing security services at the Circuit Court, ensuring the safety and security of the court, its employees, and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrest individuals with outstanding warrants and those remanded during court proceedings.
  • Provide security at the entrance to the court and within the courtroom during sessions.
  • Prepare and complete reports as directed.
Requirements
  • Currently a Certified Police Officer in the State of Michigan or able to be certified.
  • Ability to make decisions under adverse conditions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Court and the public.
  • Ability to physically make arrests and protect the public and self in dangerous situations.
  • Ability to complete necessary reports.
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and respectfully in a complex, multicultural work environment.
