Job Title: Quality Manager

SOFEC, Inc. is a leading provider of Single-Point Mooring (SPM) systems and is committed to delivering high-quality products and services. We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager will be responsible for directing and coordinating the quality control and quality assurance processes, ensuring synergy between quality policy and business objectives. This role will also involve managing the quality system to comply with ISO and MODEC policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the quality system to ensure compliance with ISO and MODEC policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the management representative for the ISO 9001 Quality System and ensure a review of the Quality System with executive management at least once a year.
  • Manage overall progress toward meeting quality objectives defined in the Quality System Management Review.
  • Direct the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for SOFEC business processes and associated Department Work Instructions (DWIs).
  • Develop and assure execution of the Quality Plan, including detailed planning of quality support activities such as internal audits and facilitation of Lessons Learned.
  • Ensure that systems and documents such as Quality Matrices, Engineering Specifications, and Quality Specifications are controlled and maintained.
  • Initiate and lead quality process improvements and ensure that Quality System and ISO 9001 requirements are met.
  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate the QA/QC Team Members to satisfy defined project requirements.
  • Budget and manage third-party inspection costs on SOFEC projects.
  • Assist with supplier development and supplier performance evaluation using the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) as an evaluation tool.
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding quality and make appropriate adjustments.
Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, environmental management, or a related field, with ten years of combined experience in engineering and manufacturing, plus experience in quality assurance. Five years of quality management experience in oilfield equipment or other heavy industry manufacturing environments is also required.

The candidate should have knowledge of Industry Standards Organization (ISO) and American Petroleum Institute (API/Q1) standards, as well as Total Quality Management skills. Strong supervisory skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interface effectively with internal and external contacts are also essential.
