Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support and structure in the production of Optics Boxes and Fiber Head assemblies. This includes developing standard work instructions, fixture improvements, and robust methods of manufacturing for critical assemblies of the Laser 3D printers manufactured at VulcanForms.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement qualified processes using applicable systems, including process failure mode and effect analysis, fault tree analysis, process validation, and process planning tools.
- Collaborate with production associates to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment, and product design.
- Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs, and increase capacity.
- Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations.
- Ability to develop and implement qualified processes using applicable systems.
- Experience in developing and incorporating new technologies into the manufacturing process.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality Systems, and SPC tools.
- Experience in Metal Additive Manufacturing.
- Experience qualifying equipment for medical manufacturing.
- Basic knowledge of optics.
