Job Title: Systems Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to engage in the comprehensive analysis, design, development, and implementation of both new and existing systems or subsystems. This position will involve key responsibilities such as Architectural Design and Requirements Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define system specifications and support the procurement of necessary hardware and software.
  • Lead a team of engineers in various technical activities.
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and assist in the testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
  • Utilize computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software to execute assignments effectively.
  • Develop designs that align with customer specifications and requirements, while considering cost as a critical design factor.
  • Provide insights on budget, cost, and schedule for design tasks.
  • Specify and assess supplier components, subsystems, and services.
  • Drive program design to meet cost and manufacturability standards.
  • Create prototypes to mitigate key development risks.
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in requirements management tools, with a strong preference for DOORS.
  • Experience with MATLAB or similar analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with Electro-Optic Infrared Systems.
  • Background in the integration and testing of EO/IR systems.
  • Experience in the defense industry.

Soft Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams.
  • Capability to review and interpret customer specifications and requirements to develop effective designs.
  • Competence in providing budget, cost, and schedule insights for design tasks.
  • Aptitude for specifying and evaluating supplier components and services.
  • Experience in proposal preparation.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site and remote work. You will thrive in a dynamic environment that promotes knowledge sharing and collaboration, providing technical expertise and support to fellow engineers and personnel.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is required, along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering.
