We are seeking a highly skilled NOC Engineer to support an enterprise Network Operations Center (NOC). A successful candidate will manage and maintain networks, and interface with customers to resolve enterprise issues.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Performing research, analysis, and isolation of alarms that require escalation, additional research, and/or triage.
  • Performing initial fault isolation and actively troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.
  • Handling inquiries received from customers and following through on resolution.
  • Participating in tracking and prioritization of ticket handling, including inter-shift turnover.
  • Participating in on-call rotation and escalated issues.
  • Effectively managing multiple issues simultaneously through effective work prioritization.
  • Assisting in creating and maintaining operations documentation, including support guides, knowledge base articles, and procedures.
  • Drafting requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.
  • Providing explanations of complex technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently have or willing to attain a U.S. Government Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Trouble ticket management experience required, with additional focus areas in conflict resolution and problem-solving.
  • Previous experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Operations environment.
  • Operating systems knowledge - Linux/Windows/VMware.
  • Familiar with TCP/IP Layers 1-3, internet protocols, SolarWinds, and Splunk.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience or 6-10 years' experience in a NOC.

Desired Qualifications:

  • CompTIA, Net+, Security+, Cisco CCNA certifications.

Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives.

Some travel to data centers is required. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

Travel:

Minimal local travel in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Job Location:

Onsite in Herndon, VA, remote telework is not available.
