Job Summary

Copper Mountain Community College District is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Construction Trades Instructor, Part-Time Faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching assigned classes and supporting the advancement of the college's values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes and laboratories, adhering to the published class schedule.
  • Publish and maintain office hours, advising students on course content, scope, and meaning, as well as major course requirements and strategies for achieving published Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs).
  • Develop and implement instruction for each class or laboratory period, ensuring consistency with academic and vocational program standards and objectives.
  • Assess and advise students of their progress toward meeting course objectives, respecting student rights as specified in District policy and applicable federal and state laws or regulations.
  • Submit textbook adoption forms and refer students to tutoring and related student services when necessary.
  • Assign and submit grades by deadline, keeping official records and collecting data as required by District policy and administrative procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Respond to administration regarding the evaluation of student petitions and grievances.
  • Abide by District regulations concerning the proper use, care, and security of equipment.
  • Advise management of unsafe conditions, potential hazards, or accidents in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges as adopted by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors for the discipline. This includes a bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or an associate degree and six years of professional experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate is based on degree: PhD/EdD: $71.33/hour - Lecture, $57.46/hour - Lab. MA/MS: $68.52/hour - Lecture, $55.20/hour - Lab. BA/BS: $65.84/hour - Lecture, $53.03/hour - Lab.
