Job Summary

Fishbeck is seeking a talented and ambitious Bridge Engineer to join our team in Novi, MI, Grand Rapids, MI, or Lansing, MI. This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, and excellent planning and communication skills.

Primary Functions
  • Work with experienced professional engineers on bridge design, analysis, calculations, plan preparation, and load rating.
  • Design engineer on bridge or retaining wall related projects.
  • Assist in developing budgets, schedules, and reports.
  • Demonstrate theoretical and practical civil engineering and specialized software knowledge.
Minimum Physical Requirements

Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking. May perform duties in the field and will be required to access and maneuver around project sites and use a computer.

Desired Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • PE license in the state of Michigan required.
  • Bridge inspection and load ratings required.
  • Excellent computer and verbal communication skills.
  • 8+ years of professional work experience.
  • Bridge design experience with working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and LFD Bridge Design Specifications is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MDOT bridge standards and guidelines is preferred.
  • MicroStation and bridge design software.
  • AutoCAD/Civil 3D software experience is a plus.
