Position Overview:
The Environmental Services Technician - Housekeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of designated areas, including resident rooms, communal spaces, and staff work areas within the facility.
Compensation:
$16.90 per hour, based on experience.
Work Schedule:
Flexible start times are available, with potential shifts including 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Weekend shifts are part of the rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster and maintain effective communication with all team members and residents.
- Uphold a positive representation of the organization within the community, aligning with our mission and values.
- Provide on-call services as needed.
- Execute various cleaning duties in skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living areas.
- Tasks include disinfecting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, waste removal, and cleaning of furniture, windows, and restrooms.
- Participate in cross-training for various roles within the community.
- Conduct periodic deep cleaning tasks such as wall washing and curtain cleaning.
- Respond to and clean up spills and accidents promptly.
- Utilize floor-cleaning equipment and adhere to safety protocols regarding hazardous materials.
- Stay informed about safety codes and Material Safety Data Sheets for all cleaning areas.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling biohazard materials.
- Maintain composure and professionalism when interacting with residents and their families.
- Adhere to attendance policies and take breaks as scheduled.
- Collaborate effectively with all departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with residents and staff.
- Commitment to delivering quality services and outcomes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and tasks.
- Willingness to work in environments with frequent exposure to cleaning agents.
