Job Overview:

The Risk Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Founders Federal Credit Union maintains regulatory compliance. This critical position requires expertise in financial regulation and a deep understanding of compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Regulatory Expertise: Interpret and apply federal and state regulations impacting the Credit Union.
  • Compliance Framework Development: Develop, implement, and maintain effective compliance programs across various departments.
  • Internal Control Processes: Establish and enforce robust internal control processes to safeguard Credit Union operations.
  • Operational Efficiency: Enhance operational efficiency through process improvement initiatives.
  • Training and Education: Provide education and training on risk management principles and best practices to employees.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster open communication and collaboration among teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning efforts, integrating risk management considerations into organizational objectives.

Requirements:

  • Degree and Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a compliance-related field with management experience. A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Certifications: Possession of a law degree is desirable but not required.
  • Skillset: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge Base: In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, such as Truth in Lending Act, Truth in Savings, RESPA, BSA, Fair Lending Laws (ECOA, FHA & HMDA), FCRA, SAFE Act, and other applicable federal and state laws.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Estimated Annual Salary: $140,000 - $180,000 based on performance.
