Laboratory Technologist III

As a Laboratory Technologist Level III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results, which are essential for patient care and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain a program of quality control and participate in a program of quality assurance to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
2. Advise staff on appropriate methods and techniques for laboratory testing and procedures.
3. Oversee the ordering and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment, as well as the preparation, packaging, labeling, and standardization of laboratory media and reagents.
4. Prepare labels, packages, and standardize laboratory media, reagents, controls, and specimens for use in analyses.
5. Prepare work orders for laboratory repairs and maintenance.
6. Assist in developing and revising laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
7. Conduct tests and/or other complex analyses to ensure accurate and reliable results.
8. Design and maintain charts, logs, and other records to track laboratory activities and results.
9. Testify in court or other proceedings as an expert witness to provide testimony on laboratory results and procedures.
10. Prepare correspondence and narrative/statistical reports to communicate laboratory results and findings.
11. Participate in or supervise the preparation, administration, and rating of laboratory proficiency test programs to ensure staff competence.
Requirements
1. Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist issued by the NYSED.
2. One (1) year of full-time paid experience as a technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank.
