Job Summary

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified instructor to teach courses in the Tools for Transition and Work (TTW) Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, evaluating student work, and participating in the assessment of their performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in Job Search Skills, Career Resources, Employment Issues, ADA and the Law, Job Training and Internship, Basic Computer Skills, Personal Development, and other vocational and educational classes for students with disabilities.
  • Evaluate and assess student work, and submit grades in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the assessment of their performance, including administrative and student evaluations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in campus and staff development activities.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in an indoor, office environment, and will be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. They will also be required to lift and carry objects up to 20 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.
  • Master's degree, or equivalent foreign degree, in the category of disability, special education, educational, psychology, education psychology, or rehabilitation counseling, and 15 semester units or 22.5 quarters units of upper division or graduate study in the area of disability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of teaching experience in an educational or vocational setting with persons with disabilities.
  • Experience working with assistive technology, such as text-to-speech, screen readers, and voice recognition.
  • Knowledgeable in the use and implementation of universal design in the classroom.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
