Job Title: Licensed Social Services Director

Join our team at Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Ville Platte as a Licensed Social Services Director. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in implementing and supervising social service interventions to patients.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Social Services Director will participate in the development and implementation of social service interventions, ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to. This role requires a strong understanding of facility policies and procedures, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement social service interventions to patients, including therapy groups and individual sessions.
  • Supervise and support social work staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care planning and coordination.
  • Conduct assessments, complete treatment plans, and communicate with families and healthcare teams as needed.
  • Participate in staffing and treatment team meetings to ensure effective care coordination.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the State of Louisiana.
  • One year of experience in a behavioral health setting, preferably as a social worker or counselor.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, with the ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Proficient knowledge of PC computers and basic understanding of DSM V diagnostic criteria.
Work Environment:

The Licensed Social Services Director will work in a fast-paced behavioral health setting, with frequent interruptions and a high level of stress. The work environment may include exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues, and the employee must provide documentation of a tuberculosis test during new-hire orientation and annually thereafter.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for moderate periods, with occasional sitting and walking.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and motions, with occasional exposure to chemicals and dust.
Additional Requirements:
  • CPR certification, completed by the end of unit orientation.
  • Behavioral Management Training, completed by the end of unit orientation.
