Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

NYU Langone Health is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center, known for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education. Our team is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology department in Manhattan. This is a 10-hour day position that offers a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with hematology and oncology conditions, utilizing the nursing process and pertinent standards of care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
- Conduct thorough health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans.
- Prescribe medications, order laboratory and diagnostic studies, and differentiate between normal and abnormal findings.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure timely and effective communication with family members, housestaff, and other disciplines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and revision of clinical guidelines and policies.
- Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
- Master's Degree in Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or another specialty organization.
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in hematology and oncology, with experience as a nurse practitioner preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
