Occupational Therapist Job Description

MedAdventures is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at one of our largest Skilled Nursing Facility partners in the Galax, VA area.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this job is to return patients to optimal physical function and facilitate achievement of patient, physician, and therapy goals.

Responsibilities
  • Screen and evaluate all residents to determine the need for Occupational Therapy.
  • Establish an individualized treatment program with consultation to facility staff in areas of Occupational Therapy.
  • Provide results of the evaluation and treatment objectives to caregivers, family members, and residents.
  • Complete all documentation as required by the fiscal intermediary, within the designated time frame.
  • Implement the treatment program based on evaluative results.
  • Monitor the resident's response to treatment and alter the treatment plan as appropriate.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab Aides.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
  • A current and valid license granted from the state of employment.
  • Previous experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.
