Overview
Trilon Group is seeking experienced civil engineering professionals with a specialization in traffic systems. This role offers significant leadership opportunities in the execution of traffic operational assessments, multimodal pedestrian and bicycle planning, complete street designs, interchange access evaluations, signalization, signage, and intelligent transportation systems across diverse transportation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate technical discussions and supervise the creation of traffic designs.
- Lead project meetings and articulate specific components of traffic design.
- Provide design assistance on various projects of moderate complexity and spearhead designs on smaller initiatives.
- Uphold high standards of deliverables and ensure quality control for colleagues.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, agency representatives, and contractors.
- Support the project manager in adhering to schedule and budgetary constraints.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Virginia is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering design is essential.
- Familiarity with VDOT and local governmental policies and procedures is advantageous.
- Strong technical foundation in traffic design and knowledge of VDOT, AASHTO, and FHWA standards, as well as familiarity with HCM, MUTCD, and PROWAG guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Synchro, HCS) is preferred.
