In the Panel, Process, and Optics group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functionality of our products through the design, fabrication, and integration of components within Apple devices. We are looking for a dedicated engineer with a strong enthusiasm for cutting-edge display and optical sensing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of nanoimprint processes for novel diffractive optical components, guiding projects from initial concept to high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish manufacturable and cost-effective solutions for advanced nano-patterning technologies.
  • Oversee interactions with Product Design, Engineering/Operations, and international suppliers to optimize the nanoimprint lithography process.
  • Conduct analyses to identify and resolve failures, enhancing component performance.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and comprehensive reports to various stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Engineering Physics, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in nanoimprinting, including process realization, material selection, and optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of material properties, nanoimprint surface treatments, and performance trade-offs.
  • Familiarity with nanoimprint mold fabrication, resin formulation, and other related processes.
  • Understanding of nano-fabrication characterization methods (e.g., XPS, SEM, TEM, AFM, XRD, FT-IR).
  • Proficient in optical device characterization techniques (e.g., Interferometer, Spectrometer, Ellipsometry).
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and management.
  • Experience managing domestic and international suppliers, with a willingness to travel as needed.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to root cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of diffractive optics or nano-photonics.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing of nanostructured optical components.

Compensation and Benefits:

At Apple, the base salary is just one part of our comprehensive compensation package. The salary range for this position is between $175,800 and $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in stock programs and receive various benefits, including medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, and educational reimbursement.
