Deputy Executive Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Deputy Executive Director to join our team at Sound Transit. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in the activation of new rail extensions and other support transit assets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team accountable for activating new rail extensions and other support transit assets, ensuring appropriate testing and commissioning to meet service expectations.
- Coordinate with Sound Transit's light rail operator, King County Metro (KCM) Rail Division personnel, through the Sound Transit Operations.
- Develop and manage a clear program framework, along with appropriately scaled policies and procedures, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with Sound Transit departments and divisions, as well as federal and State oversight agencies, to ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Perform high-level negotiations and risk assessment and management to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or Management, Transportation, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in project management of large engineering and/or construction projects, including professional experience in project controls, project planning, and program management responsibilities.
- Experience in activation and/or testing of new rail (preferably light rail) extensions.
- Leadership, budgetary, planning, and workforce management experience.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Activation and/or testing of new light rail extensions.
