Assembly Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Machinist to join our team at General Dynamics Electric Boat. As an Assembly Machinist, you will be responsible for the assembly and disassembly of complex mechanical components, including valves, gearboxes, and operators.
Responsibilities:
* Assemble and disassemble mechanical components, including valves, gearboxes, and operators
* Perform precision measurement and inspection of parts
* Use hand tools, portable power tools, and hydraulic torqueing equipment
* Install and torque fasteners
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components
Requirements:
* High school education or equivalent
* 5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly
* Proficiency in shop mathematics and precision measurement
* Ability to read mechanical assembly and detail drawings
* Availability to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications:
* Proficiency with precision measuring tools
* Completion of the CT Department of Labor Eastern Workforce Investment Board Training Program
Physical Demands:
* Climbing, color vision, crawling, heavy lifting, kneeling, light lifting, medium lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, twisting
Work Environment:
* Acids or alkalis, cold, dry, dusty, fumes, hot, inside, noise, oily
