Deibel Laboratories has been a leader in food testing services since 1967, specializing in both Microbiology and Chemistry testing. Our role is crucial in ensuring food safety for a diverse range of producers, from industry giants to small family-owned businesses.
We are currently seeking a full-time Food Laboratory Technician at our Niles, Illinois location. This position offers a standard workweek of 40 hours along with a comprehensive benefits package.
Our compensation structure is competitive and based on your experience and knowledge. We provide full health benefits for employees and their families, covering 100% of employee premiums and 50% for dependents on our base plan. Additional benefits include a self-funded dental plan, vision plan, 401K options, and profit sharing.
Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 10am - 6:30pm; Thursday - Monday 10am - 6:30pm.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- This is an entry-level position; training will be provided.
- A willingness to learn the fundamentals of microbiology and to conduct testing procedures accurately is essential.
- Basic computer skills are beneficial for entering testing data and results.
- Organizational skills are important for maintaining supplies and ensuring timely completion of analyses.
- Basic mathematical skills are necessary for performing analyses.
- Physical dexterity is required for handling samples.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, food service, or retail environments is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues.
- A professional demeanor, ethical conduct, and integrity in all interactions.
- A proactive approach to seeking training and professional development opportunities.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
Physical Demands:
- Personal protective equipment such as gloves, lab coats, and safety glasses may be required based on testing protocols.
- Extended periods of standing may be necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 10-15 lbs frequently.
