Job Title: City Lawyer and Compliance Specialist

Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $160,000 per year

About the Position

This role involves providing legal counsel to the City's various departments and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. The successful candidate will also assist in preparing tax returns and offer counsel on tax issues.

Key Functions
  1. Research precedents and case law related to specific issues or industries to inform legal strategies
  2. Draft and review corporate bylaws and membership agreements for membership associations and LLCs
  3. Assist in negotiating commercial agreements, conducting due diligence, and structuring deals

The candidate should possess 3+ years of legal experience, a JD from an accredited law school, and be admitted to practice in the State of Michigan. In-house and government experience are highly valued.
