New Horizons in Autism, Inc (NHIA) is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on improving the quality of life for adults with autism. Since 1980, we have been committed to providing a range of opportunities across various communities.

Position: Direct Support Professional

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering direct care, support, and oversight for individuals with autism within our Day Program environment. This position is hands-on and requires assisting individuals with a variety of tasks, including personal care, medication management, behavior support, life skills development, and daily structure.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM

Candidate Profile:

The individuals we support depend on your compassion and dedication. We seek caring, reliable, and committed staff members who are eager to learn and grow while providing exceptional care and support. Strong judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to engage with individuals with autism are essential.

Training Program:

Comprehensive and intensive hands-on training will be provided to ensure that every team member can deliver the highest standard of care. Training spans two full weeks, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or higher education (proof required)
  • Minimum age of 20 years
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful completion of all background checks is mandatory.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals with autism, solve problems systematically, and communicate professionally.
