Overview

As a Mold Technician, you will play a critical role in the development and production of our products, working collaboratively with a team of experts to drive success.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform pre-shift exercise and stretching activities to ensure a safe working environment.
  2. Work effectively as a team member, seeking help when needed and communicating openly with colleagues.
  3. Notify supervisors immediately of any problems or issues that arise during production.
  4. Understand and adhere to all safety precautions and proper operation of machines and equipment.
  5. Operate molding presses, open and close molds for repairs, and troubleshoot basic problems in the molding process.
  6. Assist in setting and pulling molds, ensuring the outside surface of mold platens are cleaned before installation.
  7. Inspect molds for completeness and accuracy before setup.
  8. Set and pull molds out of machines, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
  9. Verify machine nozzle length and set carriage and clamp positive stops.
  10. Indicate mold section for drop on stacked molds and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  11. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and functioning properly.
  12. Check molds for water leaks and air leaks, and verify air connections are correct.
  13. Understand the importance of the Mold Check Progress Form and mold cleaning procedure.
  14. Clean and check molds, and assist other Tool Room employees in their repair of molds or equipment.
  15. Wire and check all mold heaters, and water, air, and electrical test molds before leaving the shop.
  16. Green-tag molds when production-ready, and notify Tooling Manager or Tooling Group Leader of damaged or in-need-of-repair molds.
  17. Record maintenance completed on every mold, including date, person, and work performed.
  18. Notify Tooling Group Leader or Tooling Assistant Group Leader of supplies needed for day-to-day operation.
  19. Maintain a clean Tool Room, adhering to established sanitation and cleaning schedules.
  20. Carry out assigned tasks by Tooling Manager, Tooling Group Leader, or Tooling Assistant Group Leader.
  21. Fully understand and utilize established CPRO/ISO, HACCP, SQF, and GDC procedures.
  22. Complete inspections as needed, and shut down molding machines or equipment when harm to persons or property is imminent.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work with others.
  • Honest, dependable, and motivated.
  • Good math skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with basic measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of injection mold components, terminology, and relationships.
  • Valid driver's license and mechanical ability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat throughout the shift.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to differentiate color.
