Job Summary:

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the Youth Challenge Cadre I position. As a key member of the Kentucky National Guard Youth Challenge Program team, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of our youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities: Oversee the daily activities of youth, ensuring their safety and well-being in areas such as study time, meals, work details, physical training, and more.
  • Teach Leadership and Life Skills: Teach physical and leadership/followship components of the program, mediate conflicts, and provide guidance and informal counseling to youth.
  • Ensure Safety and Security: Conduct security checks, ensure the safety and security of youth, and identify behavioral problems.
  • Perform Inspections and Demonstrations: Perform inspections, demonstrate proper use of tools and equipment, and supervise housekeeping functions.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school graduate
  • Experience, Training, or Skills: None required
  • Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, complete the National Youth ChalleNGe Program Basic and Cadre courses, and maintain any required licensure(s), certificate(s), or other credentials.

Working Conditions:

Typically works in a residential or school-based setting, with occasional off-site work required to facilitate various program requirements.
