Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at UCT Alumni Association. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process, ensuring quality and efficiency, and leading a team of production personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel in the weld and assembly areas.
  • Develop and implement work schedules to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Maintain a current training/skill matrix to ensure staff members are up-to-date with the latest manufacturing techniques and technologies.
  • Oversee all production issues for a work group or shift, including resolving conflicts and addressing quality control issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area to Clean Room standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with materials, engineering, quality, and other staff to ensure delivery schedules are met, parts are available as needed, and quality is maintained.
  • Effectively manage individuals and teams, including performance management, conflict resolution, work scheduling, training, and successful accomplishment of delivery and quality objectives.
  • Complete manufacturing-related projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations and other groups to ensure that site delivery and quality issues are met.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP applications; Visual preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Engineering discipline/equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry highly preferred.
  • 1+ years supervisory experience in high-technology manufacturing required.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with some changes of temperature, as well as throughout the premises. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable and may be exposed to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, and computer equipment.
