Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Long Island State Veterans Home. As a valued member of our care team, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, promoting their dignity, comfort, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Participate in care planning and implementation, working collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of resident care and activities.
Requirements
  • NYS Nurse Aide Certification.
  • One year of healthcare experience, preferably in long-term care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to infectious diseases, blood, and body fluids. The successful candidate must be able to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies, and work effectively in a team environment.
