Job Summary

The Industrial Optimization Engineer II will be responsible for optimizing the prototype warehousing system, including locations, personnel workflow, inbound and outbound materials logistics, storage layouts, and scrapping of materials. This role will also establish methods for maximum utilization of materials facilities and personnel, and lead education and mentoring to employees on prototype warehousing principles and process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimal storage space, movement, material handling, and scrapping of materials.
  • Optimize the interconnected operations of the prototype warehousing system.
  • Establish methods for maximum utilization of materials facilities and personnel.
  • Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement.
  • Train, coach, and lead cross-functional teams on continuous improvement methodology.
  • Lead education and mentoring to employees on prototype warehousing principles and process.
  • Ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field of engineering.
  • Three to five years of experience in process, operations, and business optimization.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience required with SAP or related ERP solution.
  • Conducts cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and recommendations for implementation of plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • May assist in establishing accident prevention measures adding input to manage production operations training programs.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation skills and the ability to relate to all levels of the organization and higher-level management.
  • Able to independently solve complex problems with minimal guidance and identify solutions.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office business software.
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as a guide for others in area of expertise.
  • Acts as an advisor to management and key external stakeholders.
  • Uses experience to contribute to standards in which others will operate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters' Degree in relevant field.
  • Experience driving cross functional teams.
  • German language fluency.
