We are seeking a highly skilled Banquet Captain to join our team at North Pacific Management. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of banquets and events.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee the banquet staff during food and beverage service.
- Assist management in the operation of the banquet department.
- Review banquet event orders to ensure timely execution of daily functions.
- Prepare banquet rooms for assigned functions, prioritizing the needs of each event.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of food and beverage items.
- Ensure proper service times and pacing to meet customer expectations.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues to maintenance personnel.
- Conduct thorough closing procedures after each event, including securing doors and equipment.
- Schedule staff for banquet functions, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Prepare and present bills to customers, addressing any questions or concerns in a professional manner.
- Assist in controlling labor costs through effective scheduling and staff management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety protocols and operating instructions.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Current food handler card and liquor service permit required.
This position requires regular standing, walking, and use of hands to handle equipment and supplies. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
